Kindergarten

About the Program:

Saint Columbkille School has two full day Kindergarten classes. Our Kindergarten Students should be 5 years old by August 1st of the year they enter the class.

Kindergarten students do wear uniforms. Please refer to Family Handbook Uniform Policy for more information.

We educate the whole child; academically, socially, and emotionally so our students can problem solve, communicate, learn, and work together.

We realize not all children learn the same way and work to find what is best for our students.

We work collaboratively with our first grade team to prepare them as they continue their education.

We believe learning should be fun!

A Letter From Our Kindergarten Teachers:

Dear Families,

Kindergarten is such a wonderful year!  Students come into school knowing numbers, letters, and shapes.  They will leave being able to add, subtract, identify parts of speech, write sentences, and will be reading! Our year is filled with so much fun and laughter.  Along the way we will do science experiments, learn about Ohio and our world, have many celebrations, tell time, marry the letters Q and U in an elaborate ceremony, and so much more!

We are looking forward to knowing each of your children as a student and as a friend.  We hope the enthusiasm they have now, continues so that they may have a successful year.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns throughout the year.  We value your input, opinions and feelings regarding your child.
